Following our four High Holyday services at Roselidden, and a special Shabbat and Sukkot service at Threemilestone, we once again we celebrated Sukkot at the Penryn Campus hosted by Gemma from the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy who is a Kehillat Kernow member. The wonderful, yellow two-person sukkah stood outside the chaplaincy, and as we gathered at midday the sun broke through to provide some welcome warmth. Jo and Paul brought the Kehillat Kernow lulav and etrog with them and everyone – the Jewish students and the chaplaincy staff – took the lulav and etrog and said the blessings and sat in the minimally but beautifully decorated sukkah. After a short while we were joined by Rachel, Carolyn and Adam from Kehillat Kernow. The Jewish students, two of whom we met last year at the same occasion, really appreciated the opportunity to celebrate with us, and Gemma’s non-Jewish colleagues were genuinely interested in the rituals and symbols. The lulav and etrog are now back in Truro with Jo and Paul, and are available to those who wish to use them. Get in touch via the Kehillat Kernow community WhatApp group
