On Sunday night we gathered at Threemilestone Community Centre to watch a film and, of course, to have a meal together. The film was ‘Praying for Lior’, a wonderful and moving 2008 documentary film that follows the spiritual journey of Lior Liebling, who has Down’s Syndrome, as he prepares for his Barmitzvah.
As well as following Lior’s story, the film was also a fascinating insight into the life and values of a Reconstructionist Jewish community in Philadelphia.
Thank you to those that attended for the excellent food, drink and conversaion. As this initiative – film nights with a Jewish theme – was asked for by the communtiy, it would be great if more people made a commitment to attend.
